As businesses returns to pre-pandemic times, it has become clearer that some things may have changed for the long term. The pandemic required us to do business with a much lower level of social interaction. Now that we can have more social interaction, the tools that we learned to use during the pandemic are making in person interaction less needed. There are many positive things that come from interacting electronically but there are also positive parts to interacting in person. It is for that reason that I believe coatings societies are needed more today than ever. Our main goal as a society is to interface people in ways that allow relationships to grow. Whether we are listening to a professor talk about research or a supplier discuss the performance attributes of their products, we all can learn together as a group. Cleveland and the Ohio Valley have benefited from this type of interaction for over 100 years and that has help make us one of the strongest coatings regions in the world. We look forward to the 2022-2023 season of the Cleveland Coatings Society (CCS) and we know there will be a lot to learn but we also know we will have a lot of fun. Please consider encouraging fellow coatings people to join the CCS and attend events such as the monthly technical meetings, Sink or Swim, the Whing Ding, golf events along with the Holiday Bus Cruise. Thanks again for all your support and we look forward to seeing you along the way.
